PARENT CAFE
Palo Pinto Community Connections in partnership with Cook Childrens, Serenity, Mineral Wells ISD, United Way of Palo Pinto County, and The Boyce Ditto Public Library will be hosting Parent Cafe's , the host is trained in the Cook Children's parent café model, to support caregivers in the community. Parent Cafés are a small, intimate setting where parents and caregivers have an opportunity to talk about their parenting successes and challenges, engage with others, share ideas and learn proven parenting tips and techniques. Parent Cafés are based on the principles of adult learning and family support, and are a gateway to providing parent growth and leadership opportunities. Through this group caregivers will talk and listen to each other on topics that matter to them, such as the challenges and victories of raising a family, enhancing well-being, or being involved in the recovery process of someone they love. Through individual deep self-reflection and peer-to-peer learning, participants explore their strengths, learn about the Protective Factors, and create strategies from their own wisdom and experiences to strengthen their families. Participants leave feeling inspired, energized, and excited to put into practice what they’ve learned.
